Slot Parlor Has Slim Chances of Coming to Danvers

The Cordish Companies of Baltimore first introduced the idea of bringing slots into the Liberty Tree Mall early this year but have been silent since.

A Baltimore company that was interested in opening a slot parlor in the Liberty Tree Mall earlier this year will most likely not be going forward with the plan, according to an article on Boston.com.

The Cordish Companies of Baltimore first introduced the idea earlier this year to the town. However, some strong town opposition arose shortly following the announcement of the proposal and a public meeting to talk about the possible slot parlor was canceled.

“They were concerned it might be premature,” Danvers Town Manager Wayne Marquis said. “And, as things went on, they just focused on other communities.”
