Danvers Man Facing 7th Drunken Driving Offense

Lynn police say a 55-year-old Danvers man nearly collided with a cruiser while driving the wrong way down a one-way street.

A 55-year-old Danvers man is facing his seventh drunken driving charge after nearly crashing into a Lynn police cruiser last week while driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

The Daily Item of Lynn reports Kenneth Ouimette, 55, of 19-1/2 Bradstreet Ave., Danvers, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday and arraigned that afternoon in Lynn District Court on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol (seventh offense), operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and a one-way street violation.

Ouimette pleaded not guilty and was held without bail and is due back in court on June 20 for a dangerousness hearing.

The Item reports Lynn officers said they carried Ouimette into the station and sat him on a bench because he was so intoxicated at the time and could not stand on his own.
