Expert Says Illegal Mall Arcade Game Required No Skill

The Lucky 7 arcade in the Liberty Tree Mall was recently shut down and a recently-filed court document reveals why.

Earlier this month due to the possible gambling nature of the games in the arcade.

And a recent court document says that experts attest to the fact that the games require no skill and therefore are illegal, according to an article in the Salem News.

The game had an electronic stopper that the customer can voluntarily hit. However, an FBI expert said that the machine, in reality, is entirely based in chance.

“[FBI forensic examiner Deneen] Hernandez stated that there is no customer skill involved in determining the results and explained that game odds/payout percentage can be set on each machine’s mother board by configuring ... switches,” wrote State Police Trooper Jose Cuervas, who was assisting in the investigation.

The game did not pay out money but gift cards.
