Your 2013 Danvers Idol is...
Seventeen-year-old Alexandra Valenti of Manchester-by-the-Sea was the winner of the 2013 Danvers Idol.
The winner of the 2013 Danvers Idol contest is 17-year-old Alexandra Valenti of Manchester-by-the Sea.
Valenti competed against 10 other singers at Danvers High on Friday in the finals round, which was then narrowed down to the top three contestants chosen by votes from judges and the audience.
A brief biography for Valenti says she plays guitar, piano and ukulele as well and writes her own music. The teen has been singing for years, but only recently started performing in public venues.
She also confesses she has "really bad stage fright."
Valenti will take center stage now July 3 at 6 p.m. during the Danvers Family Festival fireworks show for a live performance.
She also won $500 and studio recording time for taking first in the sixth annual Idol competition.
